Please Join Us in Prayer for Charlie Kirk’s Family
Our hearts are heavy as we grieve the loss of our dear friend and brother in Christ, Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated. Many of you already know this heartbreaking reality, and words feel inadequate in the face of such evil. What we can do is pray. We lift up his beloved wife Erika, their two precious children, Charlie’s parents and family, and the Turning Point family he built and loved, asking the Lord to cover them with His comfort and peace.
Our company has had the privilege of supporting Turning Point USA since its early days, and attending TPUSA events has always been a blessing for our team. To think that one young man, barely out of high school, had the vision and courage to create a movement that now reaches millions of young people and shapes the future of our nation is extraordinary. Charlie’s life was living proof that one person, fully surrendered to God, can change the course of history.
For me, Charlie’s impact went beyond the public stage. A mutual close friend invited me to a private Shabbat dinner with Charlie while we were at a Turning Point event. I love Shabbat, and I was delighted to attend. Any time spent with Charlie was a gift, he was gracious and humble, so bright, and filled with love for the Lord. That evening left an imprint on my heart. A rabbi visiting from Israel shared a powerful message, and Charlie spoke as well. Together, they reminded us that Shabbat is not only for the Jewish people but for us as Christians too. They called it the heartbeat of the Ten Commandments: God’s invitation to rest, to worship, and to remember Him. Until that night, I hadn’t fully grasped how important this commandment is for Christians as well. Since then, I have made Shabbat a part of my own life, a sacred time for worship and reflection each week.
Charlie spoke at length that evening about how he incorporates Shabbat into his own life, and he shared that he was working on a book about this very topic. His passion was to show that Shabbat is not only for the Jewish people, but also a gift for Christians, a rhythm of worship and rest that keeps us close to God.
Even in his short 31 years, Charlie lived fully, boldly, and faithfully. He poured his life into others, into this nation, and into the Kingdom of God. His loss is beyond measure, but his legacy will not be silenced.
I ask each of you to join me in prayer: that the Lord would surround Erika and their children with His comfort, protection, and peace; that He would uphold Charlie’s parents and family with strength and hope in the midst of sorrow; that He would cover the Turning Point family with courage as they continue the work Charlie began; and that He would awaken in each of us the same boldness of faith Charlie carried so fearlessly.
May the Lord take our grief and turn it into faithfulness, that we may rest in Him, stand unashamed in truth, and carry forward the mission Charlie gave his life for.
With love and prayers,
Wendy Kinney
